Now that the dream team assembled by Joanne Lipman at Condé Nast Portfolio have found themselves sinking deeper into a nightmare, who will be next to assemble the best pound-for-pound staff of editors and reporters, at least on paper? The favorite would seem to be ProPublica, the new non-profit investigative project run by former Wall Street Journal editor Paul Steiger.
