Who wants to be a foreign correspondent? The New York Times is shaking up its foreign desk, perhaps creating opportunities for some frustrated metro reporters in this world, while the paper's man in Dubai, Hassan Fattah, is leaving altogether to become managing editor at a new English-language, pan-Arab daily newspaper. He's probably hiring. Beyond him, the switches include new Jerusalem bureau chief Steve Erlanger leaving for Paris (and following in the footsteps of departed Baghdad bureau chief John Burns, who is now in London), while Ethan Bronner will take over for him in Israel.
