Mary Berner's makeover of the Reader's Digest Association knows no bounds, apparently. In less than a week, she first replaced the flagship title's longtime international editor, Conrad Kiechel, with in-house development chief Frank Lalli (himself a former top editor at Time Inc.). Then she replaced domestic editor-in-chief Jacqueline Leo on Saturday with More's Peggy Northrop, only a few months ahead of the latest redesign and rate base cut designed to drag RD into the 21st century.
