| kellysmithreed | Posted 2/19/2008 3:17:23 PM | show profile zink rates i know that's not true. i think it depends on the writer and what they're bringing to the table. it's not top dollar but it's not $0 either :) did someone ask the lifestyle editor recently? |
| ExplodingMonkey | Posted 2/21/2008 10:03:46 AM | show profile I wrote a piece for them a couple years ago and when pay came up the lifestyle editor they don't pay anything. I squeezed a few dollars out them though. That said, they easy going to work for. |
| slink | Posted 2/21/2008 4:51:27 PM | show profile They are right: Zink does not pay. |
| slink | Posted 2/21/2008 5:11:30 PM | show profile Zink does not pay. |
| kellysmithreed | Posted 2/21/2008 5:44:43 PM | show profile I was paid I have always been paid for my work for Zink but I'm sorry if others haven't been. Like I said, I'm not sure how those things are determined. I also have a piece in an upcoming issue and invoiced for that as well with the same rate as before. |
| EditNYC | Posted 4/2/2008 12:36:14 AM | show profile they pay, but it's my understanding that it's just not a lot... small publication=small budget. depends on writer and piece--they don't do a per word rate. they're super easy to work with, though, and especially great if you're looking to get published clips for your portfolio. in terms of lifestyle pieces, i've had great luck pitching to them, too. |
