Has anyone taken any journalism/media studies courses at The New School? I'm not considering a whole degree, but there are several continuing education and online courses that that sound promising.

Has anyone ever gotten government loans to take non-degree classes?

On the whole, the New School continuing ed program
has a good rep, but it all depends upon the teacher.
Never heard of government loans for nondegree classes.

I've taken a class with Sue Shapiro
it's called Writing for Newspapers and Magazines. She gets a lot of return students so that gives you a pretty good indication of what kind of teacher she is. It's always on Monday nights and the new shorter summer term probably starts in a couple of weeks.

Yeah.. Sue's summer class starts on June 2. Good choice
because she has a lot of editors come to speak. Depends what you want. You should also check out NYU/SCPS.
I teach there.
