According to FOIA for the state, records relating to investigations of crimes, including those of any law enforcement agency, are exempt only to the extent that the disclosure could interfere with criminal investigation or enforcement proceedings, would deprive a person of a fair trial or impartial adjudication etc. that's a wide berth for interpretation and the police to say they're exempt from FOIA. thank you |
