| recovering_jersey_girl | Posted 5/27/2008 1:11:08 PM | show profile Most of the work I do is for mags that run on a yearly cycle (in other words, pitch them Christmas ideas in the summer, etc.) So what do you do if you come up with, say, a great holiday-season idea...in November? (BTW, I'm just using holidays as an example here b/c I don't want to get super-specific a/b the nature of my pitch.) Do you send it along when you think of it and say something like, "Hey, I know this won't be on your radar for another 8 months...." or do you just file it, wait until the next time to pitch it rolls around and hope nobody beats you to the idea? Thanks! |

| snappiness | Posted 5/29/2008 10:18:14 AM | show profile Some magazines set up their editorial a year in advance, and usually do it in Dec or Jan. If that's the case for the mag you have in mind then you can pitch all features in Jan. |
