I've been writing for a really great website for a month now and I've gotten nothing but great response from my editors. They're a pretty big site with lots of money behing them. I'm wondering if it's too early to ask for more money. I love the work I'm doing but I don't have as much time to search for other freelance work. Any thoughts?

A month? Have your posts driven traffic to new heights? Cuz traffic is really the only yardstick--Drudge links are good.

You can always ask but be prepared for the sound of mocking laughter.

Agreed...a month is really early in the game to be fishing for more money. At the very least I'd wait 6 months, but keep in mind that this is a job like any other; in most workplaces it's not unusual for pay raises (if they do come) to occur once or maybe twice a year following reviews. And they won't see 'I don't have time to find other work' as a legit excuse for increasing your pay.

If you feel really confident about this blog, send the clips with your resume to drum up some work from other sources.

Have you figured out how much money you are earning per hour working on each blog? If that's still pretty low, is there a way you can cut the time down you work on them in order to increase your hourly wage? I try to think of my low-paying gigs in this way.
