Maybe there's something about Blitzer that evokes such a vicious ad hominem attack from the person who posted. Wonder what it could be? | chucho | Posted – 6/30/2008 2:16:21 PM | show profile Netmom needs a lesson in libel and slander. It's perfectly OK for me to say Wolf Blitzer is a repugnant douchebag. The gray area is whether I can say Wolf Blitzer collects child pornography on his home computer. Some courts might even say that's protected speech, too, depending on the context, like if I'm clearly joking in context, even if somebody else decides to take my quote out of context to make it sound like I am making a declarative statement -- assuming, of course, that Wolf Blitzer does not in fact collect child pornography on his home computer :) But in any case, I can definitely call him a repugnant douchebag. He is a public figure, after all. If he didn't want to draw ire then he could have chosen a less prominent profession, like Wal Mart greeter or homeless wino. |
