Course Details

Do you know some real characters? People who make you say, "She should have her own TV show?" Then you have the instinct of a documentary producer. Now you need to learn how the business works. Today is a golden age of documentary. From the major networks, to cable TV, to the internet, it's all about real life, real characters, and real drama. What's more, digital technology has leveled the playing field, making it easier for you to jump in and produce the next independent doc or reality series.

In this seminar, you will learn:

  • How to structure and write a one-hour documentary
  • How to write a treatment or story proposal
  • What TV networks are looking for in reality programming
  • How producers get paid
  • What's next in the industry
