Words, words, words. Every day, you're reading words written by copywriters. From ads to Web to brochures, to annual reports and internal communications, copywriting skills can land you a solid freelance gig or full-time job writing for just about any organization. Knowledge about copywriting falls into two camps: those who know nothing about it and those who know it well, but are intimidated by it. Luckily, copywriting is an approachable writing form that's relatively easy to learn, once you've got the basic skills down and resources to guide you on your job search.

If you love writing, you can learn copywriting, which will ultimately bring in good money. Like the idea of working for a downtown ad agency? Interested in the non-profit world? Any organization that promotes, sells, advertises, and communicates hires writers? Learn how to refine your writing skills to produce words that sell.

In this 3-hour seminar, you can expect to learn:

  • Copywriting basics: writing headlines, taglines, Web and brochure writing (long copy) and print ads (short copy)
  • Exercises on word play, and using visuals to inspire your writing
  • How to build a winning portfolio
  • How to work in the New England area and command high hourly fees

If you're looking to learn more about copywriting or want to explore it as a career option, mediabistro and Lori would be the place to start! -- Marguerite Gallinaro

Copywriting is the seminar you need to take if you're thinking about being a copywriter. Lori Andreozzi answers your questions about the how-to, about the pay, and about getting started. But most importantly, she helps you jump-start and organize your creative process. You leave her class feeling informed, and, even better, hopeful." -- Mike Trotman, freelancer

"I found the seminar with Lori Andreozzi to be an excellent introduction to the field. Lori has the ability to focus in on the essential aspects of the field for beginners, and to give a sense of how it operates." -- David Olle, freelancer

"The class was a fantastic introductory course on the rudiments of copywriting. I walked away feeling confident that if I could synthesize these concepts with my own creative ideas and follow the practical advice given for starting a portfolio, I could make a living at this!" -- Jed Sanchez, freelancer

"Lori was both relaxed and professional! Her confidence was a good example for me as a freelancer, showing us how to promote yourself without seeming self-centered. I appreciated Lori's willingness to discuss her experience, both as a full-time copywriter and as a freelancer. As a proofreader who's worked alongside copywriters at several ad agencies, I was keenly interested in the issues copywriters struggle with, as well as how ad agencies work, and what they pay. The course was just what I was looking for!" -- Leslie Cauldwell

"Lori gave me the information and confidence I needed to continue working toward making copywriting part of my career. My boss has also noticed a difference in my work; at my annual review, she noted that my content has gotten stronger. I highly recommend Lori as a professional, informative instructor!" -- Jessica Kelley

"I could not be more excited about the opportunities that have opened up for me since I started taking this class! The course work simulated a real ad agency, and the feedback I received was beyond what I expected. Lori provides all the tools necessary to be a successful copywriter and includes tips on how to break into the business. I am thrilled with the knowledge I have gained from this class." -- Kelly Oliva

"I highly recommend her course! Although my job focuses primarily on copy editing and copywriting for packaging and user guides, I have had the chance to work on more "creative" projects recently (radio, web, & magazine ads) and would not have had the confidence to get through them as easily without the lessons I learned in this class! -- Michelle Mellon
