Athletech News is hiring a Digital Trending News/ E-commerce Writer to create content for the Athletech News site aligned with what readers are searching for in real-time. This role requires a journalist with a demonstrated interest in driving traffic while covering the fitness, wellness and health industry. This position is for a writer who thinks creatively, critically, and analytically about content that attracts a high-volume readership.

Additionally In this role, the writer will write daily news articles, “best of” lists, gift guides and in-depth reviews on the latest products in fitness and wellness.

The ideal candidate will have experience writing e-commerce content and news articles as well as a demonstrated interest in covering the fitness, wellness and health space.

Experience with affiliate networks, link tracking platforms and SEO tools is a must, as is a knowledge of the entertainment and tech industries. This prospective writer should be brimming with great pitches for product reviews and roundups, with snappy copy that incorporates SEO best practices.

Responsibilities

• Daily production of up to 4-5 stories.
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of the fitness and wellness industry, including the brands, trends and products driving the space
• Ability to manage time efficiently with a fast-paced workload.
• Achieve robust volume and traffic targets.

• Update existing content ensuring latest product launches and trends are reflected
• Work closely with the executive editor and editorial team to prioritize a mixture of content updates and new assignments while meeting daily and weekly deadlines
• Develop relationships with PR reps in the industry
• Attend local and national industry events, as needed, to offer live coverage
• Loading photos and affiliate links in our CMS.

• Requirements

• At least 1+ years of professional experience writing e-commerce and news content for a digital publication
• Must have demonstrated an understanding of metrics-based strategies.
• Commitment to covering content with success is defined by traffic performance.
• Attention to detail, including following specific best practices that directly impact traffic.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and Google Trends.
