About us: MediaLinks TV, LLC provides production and administrative support for information-based companies. MediaLinks TV, LLC serves CGTN America, an award-winning news organization recognized for its high-quality, objective news coverage and programming.
About the role: CGTN America is seeking a creative, energetic, and organized Videographer to join our team in Washington, DC. This person will work with our DC Correspondent covering local and national news in the region. They will be expected to shoot in the field and in studio environments, demonstrating great news judgement, an appetite for storytelling, and superb production/editing skills.
Candidate requirements:
- College degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Videography (or equivalent)
- Must have at least 5+ years network or major market experience
- Strong creative lighting skills for multi-camera shoots
- Proficient with non-linear editing systems, including Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro
- Proficient in consistently monitoring audio to ensure it's clean and clear
- Experience working with Sony FX9, FX3, A7S3, Osmo DJI and GoPro
- Work collaboratively with team members including on-air talent, producers, and assignment editors
- Contribute creative visuals to general news, special projects, and live reports
- Must be proficient in providing content for Digital Media, including for live streaming
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Respond and work well under pressure during breaking news and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility for last-minute travel and unexpected changes, including extra workdays and extended shifts
- Must possess valid driver's license and clean driving record as determined by the Company
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Be available to work nights and weekends
Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in extreme conditions like rallies, protests, and riots as well as in extreme weather conditions (arctic, desert, hurricanes, wildfires, etc...). Must be physically able to operate camera and able to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs. Must be able to move and respond quickly in unforeseen circumstances.
Desired Characteristics:
- International news gathering and television field experience, a plus
- Possess an understanding of and appreciation for a multi-national, multi-cultural work environment
- Ability to operate a drone and a Part 107 Drone license desired
