**Description:** The Assistant, Event Planner assists in the event planning process and ensures everything related to an event is taken care of, from idea conception, preparations, and day-of logistics. The Assistant juggles many tasks and helps with creating experiences and bringing visions to life. Overall, it is the Assistants job to ensure that IAU can focus on the conference meeting, seminar, or other event at hand, while the details are being covered.****Reports To:** Associate Director, Student Services******Office:** The Office of Student Services (SSV) promotes the quality of student service by providing career-related workshops, organizing extra-curricular activities, organizing spiritual development workshops, fostering the alumni community, and communicating messages to the IAU community. SSV is comprised of two departments: Career Services, Media/Events.******Requirements:****- Associate degree required, or equivalent credentials and professional experience.- Agrees with and supports IAUs Mission Statement, Institutional Objectives, and Faith Statement. Maintains a true example of Christian character in the community.- Experience with event planning, marketing, and promotion.- Good written and verbal communication skills.- Good critical-thinking, problem-solving skills.- Good organizational skills and attention to details.- Good interpersonal skills with faculty, students, peers from diverse backgrounds. Able to establish and maintain relationships.- PC proficient, strong with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, email, internet usage, related technologies.- Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools.****Responsibilities:****- Organizes, plans, and executes various extra-curricular activities for students and staff, i.e., Graduation ceremony , Halloween, Thanx-mas, etc.- Assists to deliver live and web-conference workshops, meetings, and seminars including, but not limited to, informational workshops and New Student Orientation (NSO).- Works with media to create promotional materials for programs, workshops, events, posters, e.g. flyers, powerpoint presentations, handouts, merchandise.- Meet with vendors at the venue location to help with set-up.- Run errands for supplies and decorations.- Work with other offices to ensure the completion of a successful event.- Works with media to promote events on social media, i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to communicate news, updates to the IAU community- Budget planning and keeps track of event finances including attendance and attendance reporting.- Creates a sense of community within the organization.- Performs duties related to the job description, as assigned by the supervisor.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
