Job Title: Service WriterJob Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a General Motors Service Writer. As a Service Writer, you will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking automotive maintenance and repairs for General Motors vehicles. Your role will involve accurately assessing vehicle issues, effectively communicating repair needs and costs, and coordinating the service process to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to their concerns and accurately documenting vehicle issues.

Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and consult with customers to understand their service needs.

Clearly explain necessary repairs, maintenance, and associated costs to customers.

Create detailed repair orders and ensure accurate documentation of services provided.

Communicate with the service team, including technicians and parts department, to ensure timely and efficient completion of services.

Provide customers with regular updates on the status of their vehicles and any changes to the initial service estimates.

Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally, resolving issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Coordinate vehicle pick-up and delivery, ensuring that the service process is smooth and convenient for customers.

Utilize General Motors service manuals and resources to ensure accurate service recommendations and adherence to company standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including service reception and customer waiting areas.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Service Writer, preferably within an automotive service environment, with specific experience in General Motors vehicles being a strong advantage.

Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs, especially related to General Motors vehicles.

Proficiency in using computer systems and automotive service software for generating repair orders and documenting service details.

Ability to multitask, prioritize work efficiently, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Flexibility in work schedule, including availability for weekends and occasional overtime as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications in automotive technology or related fields are a plus

Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
