PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Provide graphic design and additional artistic services to support the operations of the Marketing Department focusing on logos, packaging, web design, printing, sales, photography, video, and legal compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensure company logos and color schemes are used consistently and correctly throughout all mediaDelegate print and web design projects and provide direction to other Marketing team membersProvide design and content direction to outsourced marketing firms and videographersReview resumes of potential new Marketing team members and assist HR with the interview processProduct PackagingConceptualize, design, and execute packaging for Splintek's productsVisit retail stores to research trends in package structure, content, and design to stay competitive in the categoryCollaborate with our International customers to translate their verbiage on our packages and design their packages within the limitations of their countryCollaborate with printing vendors and thermoforming vendors to construct cartons and plastic clamshells for product packagingCollaborate with the Chemistry department to ensure product packaging provides an adequate shelf lifePossess an understanding of Splintek's automated packaging machines and design packaging to function correctly and efficiently (carton erector, rotary heat sealer)Locate and hire 3rd party packaging companies and define their scope of workGenerate original barcodes for Splintek's products using company softwareConceptualize, design, and execute product instruction sheets, brochures, coupons, sales sheets, tags, logos, envelopes, business cards, letterhead, etc.Design point-of-purchase displays for retail spaces (shipper floor display, counter display)Design signage and décor for the tradeshow boothLayout printed content and barcodes to be printed on corrugated boxesPrinting and Pre-press ProductionPossess an understanding of vendors' production processes (off-set, flexible, digital, foil stamp, die-cut)Layout and prepare electronic files for pre-press accurately to save time, money, and prevent confusion in the print vendors' pre-press departmentSubmit electronic files to print vendorEnsure that each print job is free of mistakes by reviewing proofs and requesting select Splintek employees to proof-read and sign the proofAttending select press checks to ensure the job is printed correctlyCheck order upon delivery to Splintek to ensure it was produced correctlyPerform other duties as assignedRequirements

EDUCATION

REQUIRED:

Associate degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experiencePREFERRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experienceEXPERIENCE AND SKILL

REQUIRED:

Minimum of 5 years of Graphic Design experienceProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Adobe; and WordPressBasic knowledge of HTML and CSS, Social Media management, Google AdWords, and SEOStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize multiple projectsAbility to work independently and a self-starterDetail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skillsPREFERRED:

5 years of Graphic Design experienceExperience with Photography, Videography, TV AD buying, basic knowledge of FTC and FDA requirementsBudget management experienceAbility to successfully negotiateUnderstanding of, or experience with media buyingUnderstanding of ROIExperience with creating email campaignsCustomer leads managementAbility to conceptualize advertising conceptsUnderstanding of layout design and typographyCertified in Adobe Dreamwork

Environment: Office and warehouse environments may be dust, contain sharp edges, include areas that are not well lit, the floor may be uneven or cracked, and the facility may be subject to variations in temperature.
