PrideStaff is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Designer to join their clients team!
This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a really great opportunity of internal growth and advancement. The Designer is responsible for designing dies and die components that meet customers' needs for producing parts. The Designer provides technical support for customers, tooling, production, and estimating.
Responsibilities:• Design dies that produce high quality parts and meet the needs of all customers.• Prepare for detailed die review meetings with both internal and external customers.• Actively participate in die review meetings; take notes as required.• Develop accurate final drawings based on die review meetings.• Communicate customer needs to the tooling department.• Provide tooling with accurate and complete drawings on time; update as required.• Prepare and forward accurate bills of materials for dies to ERP Processor.• Collaborate with tooling to ensure the integrity of the design; troubleshoot designproblems with die makers or CNC Operators as required.• Supply drawings to CNC for programming; update electronic files with revised programs and numbers.• Respond timely to inquiries and requests made by internal customers.• Communicate timely and accurate information to the Engineering Manager, includingnotification of problems that would prevent the normal completion of duties.• Other duties as assigned.
Requrements:Education - High school diploma or equivalent.Experience - Minimum 2 years' experience working in a 3-D CAD software.Experience designing progressive dies, preferably in Solidworks.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - technical aptitude; spatial reasoning; problem-solving; sound judgment in decision making; detail-oriented; effective time management; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; ability to work well independently and within a team; effective communication skills.
Shift Timing: 6-4:30
