Job Summary:
+ Activity therapists will provide individual activities and therapeutic/rehabilitative groups to patients in the program and complete activity assessments within 48 hours of admission.
+ The activities therapist assists patients in wellness and recovery plan development and provides teaching on wellness and recovery.
+ Responsible for timely and complete clinical documentation.
+ Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
Requirements:
+ A bachelor's Degree in a recognized recreational therapy or related field with a defined course of study addressing assessment and treatment for persons with mental illness is required; a master's is preferred.
+ Certification in a recognized recreational therapy such as art, dance/movement, drama, or occupational therapy is preferred.
+ Two years prior, work experience as an activity therapist was preferred.
