Santa Monica Studio is seeking a Sr Technical UI/UX Designer for the development of a new unannounced title!The Sr UI/UX Technical Designer will work with the team of UI/UX Technical Designers, UI Artists, and UI/UX Engineers to design and implement UI screens, components, and other assets into the game engine. You will take ownership of UI/UX technical implementation, guiding your team to build high-quality features and systems.Responsibilities

Implement screens, widgets, logic, and data flows using text based and visual scripting to match design specifications and visual targetsBe the owner of UI/UX technical implementation. Design and build tools and workflows to support iterative, large-scale developmentWork closely with UI/UX Lead, directors, and other departments leads to determine design, technical, and data requirements for game featuresProvide solutions within technical constraints that support and supplement the creative vision of the gameConsistently play through game content, analyzing, validating, and providing feedback on UI elements. Work with production and design leadership to translate feedback into scheduled, practical tasksMentor other designers to improve their design, scripting, and implementation capabilityContribute to design discussions and support collaboration, communication, and creativity across all teams and departmentsRequirements

Minimum of 4+ years as a UI Technical Designer, Front-End developer, or similar roleProfessional experience with Maya or equivalentExpert proficiency with scripting languages (Lua, ActionScript, C#, Python, React JS, etc.) and experience with a visual scripting system (Blueprints, etc.)Collaborative and inclusive attitude with the ability to listen, learn, and adapt to alternate views and approachesStrong communication skills and ability to present work and respond quickly to feedbackExperience working with UI Art and UX Design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and moreAbility to create design documents for UI systems and tools featuresPassion for games and game developmentPreferred Experience
