Since 2011, we have been collecting, standardizing, and publishing criminal justice data to increase transparency, accessibility, and accountability. We’re leading a movement to change the future of criminal justice.Role Overview

As a UX Designer I/II at Measures for Justice, you will contribute to the iterative development of exceptional user experiences across our portfolio of data tools, including for users of our flagship product, Commons. You will conduct user research, create wireframes, generate mock-ups and prototypes, and share your creations with cross-functional teams. You will also work closely with front-end developers and product managers to ensure products meet design specifications. Through your expertise and contributions, you will play a key role in advancing our mission to reshape how the criminal justice system works.Key Responsibilities

Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather valuable insights.Synthesize user research into summary reports outlining usability issues and UX recommendations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design decisions with business goals.Build wireframes, mock-ups, and low- and high-fidelity prototypes for stakeholder review and testing of design concepts.Provide detailed design specifications for developers to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.Implement an iterative design process based on user feedback.Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by modeling inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias.Your Experience

Experience in roles like UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar roles.Knowledge of user-centered design principles and best practices.Skilled in planning and executing user interviews, surveys, and usability tests.Proficient with Figma, AdobeXD, or other similar tools to create detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visually compelling designs.Experience collaborating closely with developers and product managers to ensure accurate and efficient implementation of designs.Knowledge of web and mobile accessibility principles, ensuring inclusive design practices.Bonus Points

Experience visualizing data via tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or experience designing custom data visualization.Background in interaction design principles and best practices.Knowledge or background in the criminal justice field.If you do not have the skills/experience mentioned in the bonus points section, we still encourage you to apply!Benefits
