Our preferred start date is July 1, 2024 although earlier or later start dates may be feasible. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The first review is October 16, 2023, and we will continue to review applications received after this date until all positions are filled.

The job will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects using tools from marketing and applied microeconomics to answer questions across a broad range of fields. Research topics include but are not limited to quantitative marketing, behavioral economics, pricing, and industrial organization. Candidates will be matched to work with one or two of the professors listed in the header as well as their collaborators in different departments. The matching between Research Professionals and Professors will be determined in part based on mutual interests. Previous holders of this position at Chicago Booth have gone on to Ph.D. programs in marketing and economics at Stanford, Princeton, and the University of Chicago.

If interested, please fill out our online survey (https://forms.gle/cUHZmFcxUrrwzCRc8) and this formal application (https://uchicago.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External/job/Research-Professional_JR24053). As you complete your application, you will be provided the details of a data task we would like you to complete. That data task is not timed. Data task responses must be submitted by October 16th for your application to be part of the initial review.

The ideal candidate will have (i) a strong quantitative background, (ii) strong computer skills including programming, (iii) the ability to work independently to solve problems, and (iv) a long-term interest in pursuing research in marketing or economics. Background in economics is a plus, but not necessary—we welcome candidates with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to research. We pay a competitive salary and provide standard benefits such as health insurance.
