Enjoy a competitive compensation package, a supportive work environment, and opportunities for professional growth and development.Job DutiesCore work Duties:Streamline workflows between Capital Improvements, Open Space, and Community Engagement teams to ensure seamless request flow, standardized decision-making, and synchronized project timelines.Implement intentional, equitable, and resourceful communication, tailoring outreach and engagement strategies to specific audiences.Collaborate with Community Engagement Project Managers to fortify processes, workflow, and capacity for their programs.Cultivate strong internal and external relationships, fostering a more collaborative and holistic approach to communications, outreach, and engagement.Work collaboratively with Community Engagement team members to support a variety of projects and programs.Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills:Highly effective oral and written communication, including preparing communications messages for internal and external stakeholders, writing communication plans, and crafting messaging for a variety of platforms.Background in community outreach, with experience in creating outreach and engagement plans, interfacing with diverse community stakeholders and audiences.Experience working on and directing communication, outreach, and engagement for capital projects.Strong attention to detail, a mind for process-building and optimization, collaboration and incorporating a wide range of stakeholder feedback (both internal and external).Demonstrated application of equity and social justice principles throughout work, fostering an equitable, service-focused approach to communications, outreach, and engagement.Ability to see high-level, overarching strategy and bring it back to the small details, parts, and processes to execute upon.Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and oversee communication and outreach across multiple projects within specified timelines.Proficiency in Microsoft Suite skills, particularly Excel, and other digital tools and software (like GovDelivery or similar) that support project management and collaborative work in digital or hybrid environments.Preferred Qualifications

:

Proven collaboration experience with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrant, refugee, and/or English as a second language communities.Speaks one of the top spoken languages in King County (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin or Cantonese).Experience in incorporating translation, transcreation, and interpretation into communication, outreach, and engagement targeting non-English speaking or English as a second language communities.Experience working in King County or other public sector/government positions.Necessary Special Requirements:

A current Washington Driver License (or ability to obtain one upon hire), or alternative ability to travel in a timely manner to various locations including to sites which may not be served by public transportation.

Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done.Tech Savvy : Anticipating and adopting innovations in business building digital and technology applications.Working Conditions:Telecommuting and King Street CenterThe work associated with this position will be performed predominantly by telecommuting, with occasional onsite work and meetings, as influenced by business needs. Employee will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer. Predominantly teleworking andKing Street Center 201 S. Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98104Work Hours: This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday, standard hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional night and weekend work meetings and activities.Union Representation:
