POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (TYPICAL):

Develop profitable sales growth strategies, tactics and techniques based on the feedback of the customer and market environment.Develop strategies to penetrate new coatings markets within the Americas region.Implement and lead a high-performance sales structure for the Americas region, fostering collaboration between the sales, technical and manufacturing teams.Engage in all areas of commercial team functionality including oversight of the salesforce, customer service group, marketing department and field technical service teams.Support customer applications by positioning our portfolio as a leader in the industry.Establish professional, working, and consultative, relationships with customers, including the C-level for mid-to-large accounts by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the customer within their industry.Collaborate with various business functions to align customer priorities with business needs and implement standard sales practices.Provide leadership, guidance, and management to the sales organization, ensuring optimized resource allocation and creating succession plans.Use strong research and analytical skills to identify emerging gaps or opportunities in the marketplace. Competitive and SWOT analysis to be aware of the weaknesses and threats to the business, not simply the strengths and opportunities.Create, implement, and enforce pricing policies and customer contracts; lead strategies in these areas of the business and ensure alignment regionally and globally where appropriate.Conduct analysis in order to manage performance levels of sales against market developments and corporate objectives.Develop, manage, and nurture business partnerships and accounts to accomplish volume and profit goals.Updating the organization on changing customer trends so that the organization can prepare and regulate plans accordingly.Work with corporate partners on global initiatives.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the job at a fully acceptable level.

Bachelor’s degree in business, chemistry, or engineering; MBA preferredMinimum of 5 years of sales leadership of a large sales organization in the coatings industry, with a proven track record of attaining strong revenue growth.Auto coatings OEM and Tier sales leadership (including topcoat, pre-treatment and e-coat segments).Sales and marketing experience in adjacent market experience in the paint and coatings industry.Demonstrated financial and planning competence; understanding of income statement and balance sheet elements for decision making.Cost center, headcount, and cap ex budgeting experience required.Ability to coach, mentor and develop sales team organization.Experience in leading teams in customer service, sales, marketing, and field technical service functionality.Experience in sales strategies and performance metriProven track record of independent and innovative thinking, sound decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to collaborate multi-functionally.Experience in a global sales organization preferred.
