Interior Designer Manager – Grant Leading TechnologyGLT is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to become a part of our team! The candidate will assist in requirements gathering, space planning, and furniture and finishes selection of the interiors of commercial buildings. The successful candidate will work with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Provide oversight and direction to direct reportsDevelop professional growth opportunities for direct reportsCommunicate job expectations and plan, monitor, and appraise job resultsDelegate responsibility, provide regular feedback, and hold direct reports accountableEvaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and proceduresPrepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishmentsCommunicate regularly with management and executivesMonitor and manage team performanceDocument and present the team’s project status trackerDevelop and streamline design processesAssist in training process development and implementationMaintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending system improvementsLead client communications and foster client/company relationshipsCoordinate deadlines and deliverables of Senior, Intermediate, and Junior DesignersAssist Lead Designers on large full building renovationsLead space planning requirements gathering to determine clients’ needsConduct site surveys, walk-throughs, and furniture punch listTravel to perform site surveys, including architectural and furniture surveysParticipate in architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), and furniture meetingsDevelop test-fits, concept plans, and furniture & finish selections for medium to large renovations and commercial spacesDevelop 35% Design Intent Drawings (DIDs)Apply ADA/ABAA standards to across all deliverablesAssist in research to support design team on concept developmentWork within timely schedules to coordinate the completion of tasks through to final project completionEstablish and maintain client, vendor, and consultant relationshipsPrepare deliverables for client presentationReview DIDs and Construction drawings (CDs)

Qualifications and Education Requirements:Experience working within a quality management systemExperience in supervising and managing a teamOutstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skillsWorks well in stressful and complex environmentsBachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Interior Design or Architecture or Fine Arts required(10) years of experience in commercial interior design furnishings, finishes, fixtures and equipment in various stages, from conception to completion requiredProficient in AutoCADFurniture experience is a mustExperience with Photoshop, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite or other design softwareSignificant exposure to various standards and practices applied in the design fieldExperience working on projects in various stages, from conception to completionDeadline and detail-orientedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience leading a project teamExperience communicating with client, PM and vendorsGovernment experienceOverseeing 20 plus projectsTraining new hiresImplementing new processes and standardsPresenting and conveying designs to end usersMust live in the United StatesAuthorized to work in the United States with an ability to pass public trust clearance
