Blink is looking for a Product Design Intern to join us for our summer internship program. During our paid, summer internship program, you’ll collaborate with fellow team members to make work that matters. While you’ll be exposed to a variety of studio projects, the summer internship program focuses on pro-bono client projects. Projects from past years include work with Wellspring, Partner to Decide, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, ImpactMapper, Sistah Biz, and Welfie.Please submit applications by February 23rd, 2024.

Our program provides interns with a fully immersive user-centered design project experience. From discovery workshopping and conception ideation to prototype testing and design documentation, you’ll work closely with Blink designers and researchers, client stakeholders, and fellow interns.Each intern has a Blink manager providing mentorship, direction, and support to ensure an experience of learning and growth. Our studio environment is also hungry for your new ideas to expand our perspective and push our design practice forward.The work details:

Location:

There is a location requirement to reside in one of the following locations during the internship: Boston, San Diego, or Seattle (Blink studio locations). However, interns are not required to come into the studio every day. We encourage our intern cohort to utilize in-person work for collaboration, mentorship, and studio events.Hourly Pay rate:

$22/hrProject Duration:

Our internship runs 12 weeks from June 3rd to August 23rd.What you'll do:

Collaborate and contribute across our user-centered design process.Create UX design artifacts including user journey maps, IA diagrams, concept sketches, low and high-fidelity wireframes, and concept prototypes.Bring a point-of-view into our practice, put forward brave ideas, and make something you love.Sharpen storytelling and presentation skills through interactions with team members and clients.Participate in Blink’s design practice including brainstorming sessions, cross-team critiques, and design team meetings.What we are looking for:

A digital design portfolio showcasing concept exploration, creative thinking, and craft.Emerging UX design skills involving design thinking, product design, interaction patterns, and UI prototyping.An understanding of user research, design systems, and design documentation.Familiarity with the latest creative tools including experience designing in Figma.An ability to work collaboratively, both in person and virtually.Please note, if your experience looks a little different from what we’ve identified and you think you could be a great addition to the team, we’d love to learn more about you.
