KCCI 8 offers paid internships in the News department. In order to apply for an internship at KCCI 8, please provide a cover letter with your application. The cover letter should include:
- Semester i.e. Summer or Fall
- Available start and end dates
- Days and hours available to intern
The Opportunity
An internship at KCCI 8 News offers the chance to learn how a television newsroom works and build up your professional skills with mentorship from award-winning journalists. You will choose a career path and start doing the work of a producer, digital editor, reporter or photographer. Your work will be reviewed by a manager or professional mentor. The goal is to reach a level where your work makes it on-air or online, and you’re ready for your first job.
This is a paid internship with limited openings available. Each internship will be part-time during the fall and spring semesters, and full-time during the summer. Only those who intend to pursue a career in broadcast journalism should apply.
