The choir was created in 2012 and meets Wednesday evenings term time only at the Crowle Community Hall, Woodland Avenue, Crowle, DN17 4LL from 7.15 to 9.15pm. We are an open access choir of approximately 25 members. We do not hold auditions and are open to everyone over the age of 16. We present concerts at local venues two or three times a year, often helping community groups to raise funds for local causes.We are a warm and welcoming choir who share a love of singing and enjoy exploring a varied light repertoire in a relaxed atmosphere. There is a strong social aspect to the choir. The choir has an excellent accompanist who will provide support to the musical director.We are looking for someone who* has a proven track record in choral direction and effective rehearsal technique* Has a good working knowledge of choral repertoire* Can further develop our collective vocal technique and choral blend* We would entertain applications from recent music graduates with more limited experience and in this instance we would offer some excellent mentoring.Personal attributes would include* The ability to motivate adult singers through energy, humour and passion* Willingness to participate in the social aspects of the choir* Willingness to work in collaboration with the committee* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* A balanced approach to improving standards of performance and maintaining strong levels of enjoyment* Willingness to learn and grow with the choir* A sense of humourThe choir pays a good hourly rate plus travel expenses. Fee level will be set in accordance with the successful candidate's experience. Full details on application.
