Description

Position Summary:

The SVP, Marketing will lead efforts around the marketing of AD to existing and prospective members and suppliers. They are responsible for corporate communications, advertising, brand management and public relations. Additionally, they will oversee AD group meeting and events operations support while enhancing meeting formats and content. As a member of AD's Executive Committee and Leadership Team, they will also be involved in helping to set and execute company strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:

Marketing of AD

1. Plan and direct a coordinated communications, public relations and marketing strategy. This includes social media, trade publications, member engagement surveys and action plans, quarterly and annual company reports, etc.

2. Support the company's business development strategy and activities by providing divisional leadership with marketing communications including promotional and collateral materials and digital demand campaigns to support sales and marketing programs. Oversee the system and process to identify, track and report on new prospects and to capture, report and keep current information on AD competitors.

3. Lead the strategy behind the company's overall online presence and user experience including both the public and private website (member/supplier portal).

4. Lead the team responsible for designing and executing on a best-in-class member/supplier portal utilized across the AD community for program and service marketing, communications, reporting, and business operations.

5. Oversee the company's brand strategy. Provide leadership for the implementation of consistent brand identity for all projects, services, events and materials.

6. Partner with divisional and services marketing teams to support the growth and adoption of their programs and services.

Meetings & Events Operations and Content

1. Oversee the operational planning and execution of all AD meetings and special events which includes contracting, budgeting, prep work and onsite logistics.

2. Partner with divisions to ensure that AD meeting standards are world class and that best practices are shared.

3. Identify and execute opportunities to take AD meetings and their perceived value to next level.

4. Ensure that AD networking best practices are developed and implemented across the company. Grow existing or develop and implement new networking opportunities as appropriate including special interest groups that help AD members share best practices and grow their people.

5. Oversee the orchestration of meeting topics, content and speakers for AD North American Meetings, Summits, and other AD events that deliver learning opportunities for our membership.

6. Oversee the development of marketing-related thought leadership and networking content for the AD Summit which would include marketing executives from our member companies.

Executive Leadership

1. Serve as a member of AD's Executive and Leadership Teams contributing to the strategic direction of and key priorities for AD.

2. Participate in the evaluation and successful integration of mergers and acquisitions as well as new division/adjacent industry vertical start-ups.

3. Provide dotted line supervision to divisional marketing leaders including having input into their professional development and annual goals and ensuring best practice sharing (regarding supplier promotions, etc.).

4. Perform other duties as required.

Reporting Structure:

3 direct reports with a team of 20 associates. Would oversee Corporate Marketing, Meetings & Events and Product Management/Web Technologies. Divisional Marketing and Meetings staff to dotted line report into this position for purposes of helping to set MBOs (goals) and professional development.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Ideal candidate must possess excellent written communications and presentation skills.

2. Must have the ability to write effective business plans and possess advanced analytical and strategic thinking abilities, manage strict deadlines, and prioritize workload.

3. Positive attitude, flexibility and receptiveness to new ideas are essential.

4. Ability to interact and communicate successfully with all levels of the AD staff, members and suppliers.

5. Experience leading cross-functional teams.

6. Strong business acumen, analytical and negotiation skills.

7. Strong project management, coordination and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field is preferred.

2. At least 10 years of prior experience in a marketing executive role.

3. Experience overseeing corporate marketing and communications functions.

4. Experience overseeing the operational aspects of large-scale meetings and meeting content.

5. Experience working with a manufacturer or distributor in one or more of our industry verticals (e.g., electrical, plumbing, PVF, HVAC, bearings & power transmission, industrial & safety, safety network, gypsum supply, decorative brands) preferred.

6. Prior people management experience required.

7. Previous M&A experience strongly desired.

Additional Comments:

The position is based out of our corporate office in Wayne, PA, where we have a hybrid work schedule (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays in office with Mondays and Fridays remote optional)AD's business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Travel approximately 30%+ for meetings, etc.
