Authorization Specialist
for our Brooklyn Corporate Office who is a strong communicator, pays extremes attention to detail and is committed to continuously acquire new skills.

REQUIREMENTS :
Prior experience working with health care authorizations
Prior Home Care Experience
Excellent communication skills
Must be well organized and able to multi task
Excellent time management
Extreme attention to detail
Ability to accept direction and perform given assignments
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to define problems and tasks, collect data and establish facts, take action and facilitate resolve
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have excellent speaking, writing and excellent customer services skills
High school graduate; some college credit preferred.
Investigative ability, highly organized, self-motivated, takes initiative, excellent written and verbal communication and analytical critical thinking skills; able to perform without much supervision
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review, process, and enter all authorizations and communications received from contracts
Determine the necessary action(s) and notify all appropriate parties accordingly
Follow up to obtain continuing authorizations of services for all expiring authorizations as well as any other needed authorizations
Follow up on any changes or corrections needed for any authorizations
Correspond with and advise all other departments regarding any authorization related issues or inquiries
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
