Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). " Analyzes and interprets meteorological data gathered by surface and upper air stations, satellites, and radar to prepare reports and forecasts for television viewers, and assists weather anchor with on-air presentation by performing the following duties.
• Studies and interprets reports, maps, photographs, radar, satellite and imaginary charts to predict long and short range weather conditions.
• Operates computer graphic equipment to produce weather reports and maps for televised weather broadcast.
• Broadcasts weather forecast in a clear, concise, informative manner to television viewers.
• Interacts with the public and receives viewer storm reports.
• Determines the best way to deliver severe weather information to the public.
• Delivers hurricane and other severe weather warnings to the public.
• Updates web site and weather information line daily.
• Uses creativity and innovation to present the best on-air graphical look.
• Develops and prepares weather graphics for weather anchors.
• Remains current with latest software enhancements to provide best on-air look.
• Monitors performance of all weather tools and equipment and notifies Chief Meteorologist of any deficiencies.
• Monitors radar and satellite trends.
• Prepares forecasts for SAP channel.
• Assists with the maintenance of story boxes in the newsroom computer system including updating files and noting possible story ideas.
• Meets all scheduling and broadcast deadlines.
• Attends and participates in all scheduled meetings.
• Responsible for any and all equipment issued by FOX.
Minimum three – five year’s equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree (B.S. in meteorology) from four-year college
or university
