JOB DESCRIPTION
- Front-End Software Developer UX / UI (4 - 6 months)
We are seeking a Front-End Software Developer for a 4 - 6 month position to support the NASA Aircraft Flight Management System team. Commercial customers and other Government agencies are looking to integrate this NASA developed system into their operations. The Front-End Software Developer will be tasked with the development of a centralized front-end dashboard to support multiple user roles and views of the system. This will also include the development of User Interface (UI) templates for the system's different applications to standardize fonts, colors and menu layout.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Facilitate the client’s product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Front-End Software Developer UX / UI (4 - 6 months)
Education : BS in Computer Science
Year(s) of Experience : 5+ years of related experience of front-end development experience
Qualifications, Skills and Traits:
Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must.
HTML5, CSS3, ES6, Bootstrap and JavaScript skills.
Graphic design experience using Adobe tools to create images.
Use of Visual Studio is a plus.
Use of Angular is a plus.
Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
