Responsibilities

Provide strong leadership, guidance, and technical expertise and develop an exceptional Transportation teamResponsible for the full lifecycle relationship with the clientConduct business development including marketing and client contactsCreate detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide byInteract and communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agenciesEnsure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of othersHave a solid understanding of MNDOT's consulting expectations and needsSpearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processesOversee strategy development and implementationPrepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externallyRequirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural)Masters in Engineering a plusMinnesota P.E license required20+ years in transportation planning, design, and construction management with a focus on roadway, highway, and/or bridge projectsFamiliarity with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT); Comprehensive understanding of MNDOT organization, procurement, contracts, and business practicesFamiliarity with Minnesota construction engineering practices, standards, and documentationProven ability to follow procedures and meet deadlinesPrior experience in leading staff, managing projects, maintaining and developing new clientsProven business development skills with strong relationships with clientsGood decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detailAnalytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problemsOrganizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the team on trackExcellent communication, networking and team building skillsExperience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point)
