KIPP Nashville is part of the acclaimed KIPP Network, which educates 100,000+ students nationwide and supports students from Pre-Kindergarten through college, career and beyond. Through the KIPP Forward program, our team helps students identify their career of highest aspiration and develop the skills and confidence to chase their dreams. KIPP Nashville currently operates 3 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 2 high schools and we are excited to open our doors to more schools in 2024 and 2025 in response to strong community demand.

Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, hands-on and proven Marketing leader with excellent written, verbal, and strategic leadership skills to join our team as the Director of Marketing. This individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will develop and execute marketing strategies that will increase student enrollment, drive staff application volume, and support KIPP Nashville's overall goals.

Responsibilities of the Director of Marketing include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Vision and Brand OwnershipDevelop and implement KIPP Nashville's marketing strategy to increase student enrollment and staff application volumeOwn and manage digital marketing strategy for KIPP Nashville, including development of overall digital strategy, accompanying creative, and regular analysis of outcomes and internal reportingOversee the creation, distribution, and execution of social media across all of KIPP Nashville's channels, including the support of campus-level administrators to ensure holistic branding and messaging at all levelsDevelop strategic insights and understand relevant market dynamics and trends to refine KIPP Nashville and/or specific school's value propositions for the creation of marketing campaigns and contentReport on campaign performance and metricsDesign, create, and coordinate production of all marketing materials across student recruitment, staff hiring, and fundraising effortsResponsible for website strategy maintaining up to date and relevant content, and managing agency partnerField requests from campuses to determine appropriate asset type for marketing materials including flyers, signage, event support, and direct mailWork closely with regional Development and Talent teams, as well as schools, on key content initiativesCommunity Engagement

Identify opportunities for key community partnerships through event sponsorships and participationCoordinate events with community partners to generate greater brand awareness and interest in our schoolsLeverage school assets to strengthen community awarenessRecruitment

Analyze target market information to identify and recommend effective marketing approaches for student enrollmentSupport student recruitment team to drive grass roots and grasstops enrollment effortsPartner with Director of Talent Recruitment team to ensure strategy that supports org-wide goal of 100% teacher roles filledQualifications

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant fieldMinimum of 3 years of prior experience in marketing and/or communications and strategic leadershipExperience working with and managing a third-party agency to address marketing and communications needsDemonstrated ability to drive results through strategic marketing efforts and management of multiple marketing channels and tacticsFamiliarity with a CRM platform like HubSpot or SalesforceExceptional writing and communication skills, emphasis on recruitment copywritingAbility to communicate and work effectively with children, families and professionals from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgroundsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict timelinesHigh degree of initiative and independent judgmentDetail oriented and highly organizedFamiliarity with design software like Canva and Adobe SparkDemonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of KIPP Nashville; desire to participate in the KIPP Nashville communityDesired Characteristics

Additional Information

Our comprehensive compensation package includes life insurance and long-term disability coverage provided by KIPP Nashville, voluntary medical and dental plans, in addition to retirement benefits and an annual salary increase. To establish equitable salary practices, the compensation package is derived from the regional KIPP Nashville Public Schools pay scale. This position is exempt and will follow a 12-month schedule.
