We are ruthlessly focused on human truths, insight-driven creative strategies and integrated creative solutions that build the brand and grow the business – not just with ads but through brand acts and experiences.We value talent, diversity, innovation, curiosity, collaboration, culture, insights, and results, and we are committed to helping people – all people – live better.Overview:In this Creative Director position, you’ll be responsible for spearheading the creative vision and strategy across all fashion initiatives, including brand, seasonal, and private label campaigns; you’ll steer innovative, insight-driven concepts, set the bar for modern, relevant, compelling, and aspirational photo and video shoots, and oversee elevated, consistent graphic design application in post. In addition, you’ll help manage apparel rebrands, elevate our fashion landing pages and in-store signage expressions, and bring a blend of strong leadership skills and hands-on creative expertise to the table.Key Outcomes:Best-in-Class Work:

In response to creative briefs, develop strategic ideas that enhance our KPIs around brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty. Employ critical thinking to ensure we’re always on task.

Lead the ideation, design, and execution of tier 1 awareness driving campaigns. Manage and contribute to a team that is responsible for designing modern and on-brand visual worlds with relevant and compelling swipe, writing scripts, partnering with production to identify partners (e.g. casting director, editor), oversee the casting, music, location, shot list, and other various sub-workstreams and decks, attend shoots, manage post including edit and color, and be accountable for final delivery of asset suites.Manage the ideation, design, and execution of tier 2 consideration and conversion driving initiatives, such as seasonal campaigns. Steer multiple seasonal and private label pods that execute campaigns and shoots for site, store, and OLV.Maintain and evolve various apparel brands’ visual identities; at times, you’ll be managing and partnering with an agency who specializes in this work.Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to inform creative decisions.

Brand Consistency:

Ensure all creative materials are considered at various levels of the funnel; align verbal and visuals accordingly and in concert with seasonal visual identities and peer teams, such as beauty, home, and more.Team Development:

Mentor, guide, and grow the team with optimism and enthusiasm, pursuing an award-winning in-house agency model.

Conduct regular check-ins with DRs and monthly check-ins with skip level associates with the goal to understand the team’s overall dynamic, skill set, and potential.Conduct semi-annual or annual performance evaluations with the goal to up-level our creative output; consider categories such as: swipe, deck design, strategic approaches and ideating, presentation, and critical thinking.Identify new, competitive talent to add to the growing and accelerating team as appropriate. Consider overall organization of team.

Manage team and projects that are on-brief, strategic, creative, and polished for presentations, mitigating feedback and pivots that will ultimately keep workstreams on track.Partner with Creative Account Management and Operations (CAMO) and Production to manage timelines and executions to concept breakthrough creative on schedule and in budget.

Client Satisfaction:

Build strong relationships with WCS peer teams, such as marketing, apparel design, editorial, and merchandising to sustain and grow business.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Creative Director or similar role in the fashion retail industry.Strong portfolio showcasing varied 360-degree creative projects in market at all levels.Exceptional leadership and team management skills.Excellent understanding of fashion trends and consumer behavior.Proficiency in creative software and tools: Adobe Creative Suite, KeyNote, Google Slides, PowerPoint, Figma, Microsoft Office 365, SlackMinimum 15 years of experience in a creative role.A mix of agency and in-house experience strongly preferred.Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.Reporting:Reports to Group Director, Creative (Head of Style)Manages Associate Creative Directors, Senior Art Directors, Art Directors, Senior Designers, and DesignersWhy Join Us:We have a thrilling job to be done: make Walmart fashion relevant to every American consumer. The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
