The Marketing & Business Development Manager will support the Global Insurance Industry Group (IIG) and will be based in our New York office. This role will lead the business development and marketing efforts of the group, which is a key strategic priority for the firm, and help expand our reputation as a leading global legal advisor to the insurance industry. We provide a wide range of legal advice to our clients, including mergers and acquisitions; corporate finance; the securitization of insurance risk; structured reinsurance transactions, and complex litigations, investigations and arbitrations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Manage day-to-day responsibilities to ensure that assignments and projects are properly managed and in alignment with the firm's overall strategic efforts, and that service to clients is exceptionalManages responses to RFPs, and pitch, presentation, and other opportunities via the development of written proposal and presentation materials for IIG and liaise with others when relevantDevelop and support the implementation of key BD initiatives, including priority client targeting and campaigns, client satisfaction, client seminars and networking events, as well as other initiatives to enhance business development effortsEngage in research and analysis and competitive intelligence-gatheringDevelop new marketing brochures and edit and refine existing ones; maintain practice descriptions in BDM-shared systemsPartners with BD&M colleagues to facilitate the completion of directory submissions; regional surveys; specific lawyer and practice awards and accolades; and other profile-raising initiatives on behalf of IIGSupport annual marketing and business development business plan development for IIG focused on priorities outlined by firm leaders and/or assigned teams, including thought leadership platforms, communications, and client outreachCollaborate with Marketing & Business Development department leadership and IIG leaders to develop annual budgets to support initiatives outlined in business plan(s) or as outlined by leadership, including specifying key strategic and tactical objectives and means to achieve annual goalsWhen relevant, provide support for seminars, sponsorships, and other events pursued by the firm in your local officeSupport integration of lateral lawyers into IIG via preparation of biographies and announcements, distribution of announcements, integration of contacts into firm's CRM system, collection and integration of experience for and into department and practice materials, coordination with Communications team as to internal and external communications relating to lawyer(s)'arrival at Mayer BrownDevelop and maintain league table/industry survey content for IIG; respond to league table/industry surveysSupport the collection and maintenance of CRM-based contact and other data for marketing planning and for mailing lists for IIGSupport coordination of business development training for lawyersPeriodically review and consult with IIG lawyers regarding their bios and practice descriptions to ensure that they are currentAssist with the supervision and training of more junior team membersPerforms other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectivesQualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the jobProfessional Experience:

Minimum of six years of demonstrated success in a marketing, research, management, and/or communications-related field, either in the professional services (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or in a comparable position(s) in the corporate, trade association, or academic sectors, requiredTechnical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office productsPerformance Traits:

he typical New York pay scale for this position is between $159,100 and $183,000
