News Editor

We are looking for a colleague to work for TRT World News Department as a News Editor in Washington, D.C.

Job Description

• Write scripts for on-airtalent, cutting pictures using a newsroom production system, finding guests,commissioning and writing graphics and other task as required,

• Produce original and market-leading news output while ensuring TRT World's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to,

• Produce news for TRT World's television news channel and embrace the full range of content delivery platforms including online and aim to develop cross-platform working practices and ideas wherever possible,

• Work with producers within the team and across the newsroom, as well as with the news desk and online to cultivate a collaborative approach to newsgathering and delivery across the channel.

• Coordinate and plan field assigments and news coverage

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years ofexperience in media sector,

• Experience in a national or international broadcast TV news channel, requiring knowledge of newsroom production systems and desktop editing,

• Appreciation of the benefits and difficulties of cross-platform working,

• Strong editorial judgement skills with excellent journalism,

• Previous experience in anational or international broadcast news channel, Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy,world business and economic affairs, Sciences and the Arts;

• Fluency in both writtenand spoken English.
