Position Summary:

Designs, develops, troubleshoots & deploys the corporation's enterprise computing infrastructure which is comprised of a myriad of server, network & storage systems as well as specialty appliances.

Reports to: IS INFRASTRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

OVERVIEW

Work directly with users, customers and vendor to support the corporation's major software applications.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Exempt, non-supervisory position.

Examples of Duties Maintain AHFC routing and switching fabrics, using industry best practices, to a wide variety of geographically dispersed sites. Maintain AHFC firewall / IDP & VPN fabrics using industry best practices. Maintain AHFC storage systems using industry best practices. Maintain AHFC many different server systems using industry best practices. Maintain the different applications required to manage the routing, switching, storage and server systems. Assist more senior Infrastructure Administrators with maintaining all documentation & diagrams for compute, storage and network tiers in AHFC environment. Assist more senior Infrastructure Administrators with internal and external pen testing, on a regular basis, to verify the security stances of AHFC digital assets. Develop & maintain a consistent, high quality, customer focused approach when interacting with AHFC's business partners, clients & customers; other AHFC departments. Develop working knowledge of AHFC business practices & processes as well as understanding its goals as a corporation. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Routing and switching technologies and trends, with platforms such as Cisco, Force10 & Juniper. Firewall / IDP & VPN technologies and trends, with platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco & Juniper. Storage technologies and trends, with platforms such as Netapp & Veeam. Server virtualization technologies and trends, with platforms such as VMware, XEN & KVM. Wireless technologies and trends, with platforms such as Aruba & Cisco. Different flavors of modern Linux & Windows based server operating systems. Microsoft AD, Exchange and IIS. Scripting technologies such as Powershell, Perl, Python, Bash, etc. ITIL & ITSM principles and best practices. Skills:

Administration of datacenter routing and switching fabrics as well as remote site network connectivity using technologies such as VLAN, LACP, QoS, DSCP, AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, OSPF, PBR, DAI, ACL, DHCP, DCB, etc. Administration of datacenter firewall / IDP fabrics using technologies such as NAT, PAT, ACL, SSL decryption, IKE, IPSec, etc. Administration of datacenter virtualization environment using technologies such as hypervisors, guest virtual servers, virtual switches, virtual routers, snapshots, clustering, etc. Administration of datacenter storage environment using technologies such as NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, snapshots, mirrors, clones, high-availability, clustering, etc. Administration of a Microsoft Active Directory environment running Exchange as well as many other supporting systems. Administration of Microsoft IIS servers. Administration of Linux based servers. Administration of anti-virus, patching, monitoring and other infrastructure related applications. Accomplishing automation, where possible, via scripting. Microsoft Office suite applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Visio. Abilities:

Understand, identify, and plan for the business process impact of planned or existing system changes while ensuring that new technical requirements are properly integrated with business processes. Thrive in an environment where peer review is used to determine viability of a solution or process. Perform algorithm analysis against a business process or auditing requirement in search of rational efficiencies. Maintain documentation for a solution or process that is in sync with the needs of management, team members & end users. Effectively & consistently use an issue tracking system while organizing and prioritizing a constantly changing workload. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and continual interruption. Must be able to function with a high degree of independence within levels of delegated authority. Use independent judgment in the research and recommendation of application design decisions before making appropriate recommendations to management, team members and end users. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with AHFC personnel, contractors, customers, consultants, suppliers and vendors. Interpersonal skills will be utilized on a daily basis through interaction with a diverse cross-section of people and organizations. Read & understand written material, interpret & apply rules. Must be able to write clearly and prepare documents as required by management, team members & end users. Continually learn, adapt, and apply new technology skills to stay current with emerging or existing IT archetypes. Work as needed. Long hours and/or weekend work may be required as necessary to support department goals and objectives. Must be able to travel as needed. Minimum Qualifications

I & II

High school diploma required. Degree requirements: Infrastructure Administrator I:

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field.

Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma required. Infrastructure Administrator III/VI:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field.

Degree must be from an institution accredited by one of the six regional accreditation boards and or the AACSB:

MSA - Middle States Association

NASC - Northwest Association of Schools & Colleges

NCA - North Central Association of Colleges & Schools

NEASC - New England Association of Schools & Colleges

SACS - Southern Association of Colleges & Schools

WASC - Western Association of Schools & Colleges

Experience

III

position requires at least four (4) years full-time (35+ hr/week) work experience consistent with the KSAs of this job description within the last six (6) years.

The

IV

position requires at least six (6) years full-time (35+ hr/week) work experience consistent with the KSAs of this job description within the last eight (8) years.

Substitutions: Qualifying work experience may be substituted for required educational requirements on a year for year basis at the discretion of the hiring authority.

This is a level 19-22 position starting annual salary $66,640.02 (DOE) with excellent benefits.
