Director, Integrated Communications

POSITION LOCATION

This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond, Virginia hybrid/in-office applicants.

YOUR ROLE

The Integrated Communications team serves as a trusted advisor to our business leaders and associates. We work together to provide helpful information and tools to Genworth associates, distributors, policyholders, and the media.

We are looking for a Director, Integrated Communications to lead a team of communications professionals that deliver both internal communications support to the enterprise, as well as executive communications support across internal, social media, and public relations. This proven people leader will also drive other enterprise-wide efforts including thought leadership, leadership meetings, and employee recognition programs. Strong candidates will bring exceptional communication skills, a proven ability to cultivate strong relationships, a passion for developing talent, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, heavily matrixed environment. This role will report to the SVP, Communications, Brand, and Transformation.

What you will be doing

Developing and implementing enterprise-level internal and executive communications strategiesDeveloping and implementing a communications strategy to support the company's transformation agendaLeading and developing a team of integrated communications professionals that support our operating companies and functional areasIdentifying thought leadership opportunities to support our brand strategy and partnering with cross-functional teams to bring them to lifeProviding strategic communications counsel to Genworth and CareScout senior leadership (except for Genworth's CEO), as neededLeading the strategy, planning, and implementation for the company's annual leadership meeting, extended leadership community, and annual signature employee recognition programDriving the technology strategy to support our internal communications and public relations efforts, in partnership with the IT teamResponsible for managing budgets and ensuring oversight of external vendor partnerships align with the overall strategyServing as the product owner for the company's intranetOther duties as assignedWhat you bring

15+ years of communications experience, including some degree of internal communications, public relations, and social mediaProven ability to develop and lead high performing teams in dynamic environmentsExceptional written and oral communication skillsExtensive experience with handling highly confidential informationA passion for coaching, timely feedback, and developing talentAbility to effectively process a large amount of information, spot important topics, and make connections between disparate itemsExceptional time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with an emphasis on follow-through and attention to detailStrong technical aptitude to support effective and efficient communicationExperience using SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 appsEmployee Benefits & Well-Being
