Exciting FM/IM Hospitalist Opportunity at North Star Behavioral Health!
North Star Behavioral Health is a behavioral health facility that offers programs in and around the Anchorage, Alaska area for children, teens and adults who suffer from psychiatric or substance abuse issues. We also offer military-specific care to First Responders, Service Members, Veterans, and their dependents at the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital.

What You'll Do
- Conduct medical assessments, initial H&Ps within 24 hours of admission, follow-ups, and patient discharges.
- Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement integrated treatment plans that address both mental health and medical issues.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to contribute insights into the patient's medical condition(s), discuss treatment options, and ensure that the overall care plan is comprehensive and cohesive.
- Co-manage patients with complex medical co-morbidities during their length of stay, alongside Psychiatrists, other mental health providers, and support staff.
- Provide medical education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications that may impact overall health.
- Provide medical consults as needed to patients across the lifespan.
Position Details
- Full time, 40 hours per week.
- Benefit eligible, employed, W-2 position.
- The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, days only.
- Occasional weekend coverage and weekday overnight call.
Required Experience, Certifications, and Licensure
- Current Alaska Medical/Physician license in good standing.
- BE/BC in Family Medicine (ABFM) or Internal Medicine (ABIM).
- MD/DO degree from an accredited program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
