In so doing, it serves as a partner with units across campus, providing expertise in brand management, strategic communication, media relations, digital and social media strategy, website development, content training and strategy, print and online publications and videography and photography.The Videographer/ Editor is responsible for all aspects of video production from ideation, pre-production and planning (script and storyboard) to scheduling and shooting, to post-production and editing, to final delivery of videos. The Videographer/ Editor will create videos independently or as part of the larger multimedia team.Reporting to the Multimedia Manager, the Videographer/ Editor is part of a team of photographers and video producers who work collaboratively within the Office of Communications to support the vision and goals of the university.Responsibilities+ Create high-quality videos, from ideation to final delivery, that enhance Wesleyan’s reputation as a model for liberal learning.+ Work collaboratively within the Office of Communications to generate new ideas and produce creative concepts that support the University’s brand.+ Capture video footage and record audio on location and on site.+ Edit and perform post-production tasks such as audio and color correction, creating title sequences, lower thirds and onscreen graphics and motion graphics for videos.+ Catalog and maintain library of raw video content and project assets to internal backup storage server and archive.+ Participate in group critiques and team meetings regarding complete and upcoming productions+ Liaison with the Social Media Manager on creating social content+ Maintain, carry, set up, and breakdown of production equipment for video shoots on and off-campus.+ Perform other duties as assignedThis position is an on-campus position with the potential for a hybrid (on-campus and remote) schedule after working two full semesters on campus. Positions will require frequent on-campus meetings.Hybrid work is only considered for residents of MA, VT, NH, ME, CT, RI, or NY. (Relocation assistance to CT is available for those who qualify).Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree and a minimum of three year demonstrated experience in video production or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven experience as a videographer or related role.Demonstrated experience with video editing, post-production, delivery platforms, closed-captioning and software for encoding. Such software can include Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and YouTube.Experience with video production equipment including mirrorless/ DSLR cameras, lighting and audio.Experience with creating content for distribution through social media.Ability to manage multiple video projects effectively and ability to work with university project management tools.Excellent storytelling and organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.Familiarity with managing and archiving video footage; strong use and enforcement of naming conventions, for both raw footage and final master programs.Maintain, transport, set up, and breakdown of production equipment for shoots in collaboration with other video producers on- and off-campus with or without accommodation..Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds.Preferred Qualifications+ Bachelor’s degree in film production, multimedia production, communications or similar discipline.+ Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in video production .+ Proven experience as a videographer or related role.+ Experience working in an agency or another fast paced, multi-stakeholder environment.+ Experience using motion graphics or animation tools.
