M&S Engineering, LLC seeks qualified candidates that are highly organized, energetic, self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team for the position of

Senior Electric Distribution Designer . The position will produce electric distribution field designs, staking of distribution facilities, project estimation and preparation of construction prints using electronic design/estimation software in accordance with the client's standards of construction and specification. Incumbent will be responsible for advanced design of residential, commercial, industrial, overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.

This position will report to the office and is

remote.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Perform cost estimates, plan material needs and follow up on progress on projects from inception to completionInterface regularly with contractors, engineers, developers, customers, and consultantsProvide mentoring, training, and guidance to peersCoordinate closely with key stakeholders to discuss the process and procedures for supplying electric powerResearch, acquire, record, and verify easement informationImplement and manage solution from conceptualization through planning and construction, to project completion and financial reconciliationEvaluate environmental constraints and identify projects requirements, i.e., permits, easements, aesthetics, fees, etc.Research new material specifications and resolve basic material issuesPerform complex power system calculations: voltage drop, equipment sizing, etc.Interpret survey data, plan, deed information, and engineered construction drawingsDevelop master system plans for future growth in large developmentsOperate computer assisted engineering and design softwareEdit within Global Information System (GIS) to assure accuracy and connectivityPrepare easements and exhibits, including property descriptions, record survey measurements, and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and platsCoordinate pre-development and pre-construction meetings with all involved departments and personnelAct as first contact between line construction crews and landowners regarding existing line and easementsRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, warning labels, etc.Make presentations to councils and neighborhood groups regarding overall plan and costsPrepare large scale distribution design with minimal supervisionConduct construction pre and post inspectionsInterpret, adhere to, and enforce the company safety policy, and the National Electric Safety Code and National Electric CodeMaintain the security of confidential informationPerform duties of Senior Pole Contacts Designer, as needed/requiredRequirements:

Associate's Degree in a field related to electric utility distribution power design AND 5 years of directly related experience OR High School Diploma/GED AND 7 years of directly related experienceMust be insurable and have a valid driver's license. NO EXCEPTIONSKnowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and budgetingKnowledge of using computer systems and PLS - CADDKnowledge of principles for providing customer serviceKnowledge of specification book, current Joint Use Agreements, Rates, and Language, construction materials, warehousing methods, National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code specifications, EPA, and OSHA codesKnowledge of basic principles of property rights, easement acquisition, and construction practicesSkilled in time management, prioritizing, and conflict resolutionAbility to draw and edit GIS mappingAbility to communicate, listen, and understand effectively verbally and in writingBenefits:
