Summary
Our client is seeking an Interior Designer to join their team. The Interior Designer is responsible for managing the design process in its entirety and creating detailed furniture plans with all finishes and specifications. This position works closely with sales and operations and reports to the Director of Design.
ResponsibilitiesAssists in the management of the full cycle of the design process, from start to finishAssists in the management of the client programming process.Manage customer concerns, and resolve issues related to layout, space, and furnitureHandles the selection process of furniture specifications, and finishes based on client communication.Studies, research, and plans for design styles and trendsMaintains knowledge of design productsMaintains a working knowledge of construction-related elements (associated with design) and building codesUtilizes CAD to generate design samples, sketches, plans, and renderingsPrepares itemized specifications, final designs, and installation drawingsActs as the liaison with operations and sales departmentsAssists in the evaluation of issues related to pricing, purchasing, ergonomics, materials, and manufacturing methods and techniques.Organizes, plans, and schedules projects and design timelinesAttends workshops, seminars, and training on various types of manufacturing and furniture designProvides showroom and library assistance as needed.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in interior design, or equivalent experience in a related field.Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAP, Configura/Smarttools, SketchUP, and Project MatrixExperience with SteelcaseAbility to prioritize, organize, and communicate effectivelyPossess excellent customer service skillsAbility to be successful with little to moderate supervision
