Position Summary:

Lead research/development/optimization/Integration for highly advanced video algorithms and solutions which are architected by HQ or internal team.

Position Responsibilities:Manage developing/researching team for the highly advanced video/computer vision algorithms to enhance Samsung's core technologyTechnical lead of algorithm research & development projectsQuickly prototyping new video algorithm ideas/technologies to create proof of concept and demos (e.g. develop new framework for internal/external demonstrations)Evaluate and recommend the best SOTA solution designs, architecture, papers and open sources which are used for PoC of papersAnalyze from any available sources to find corner case scenarios, fault reasons or bugs with insight clue and then make enhancements into the code deliverablesEffectively communicate and support other global & international engineering teams including SAMSUNG HQResponsible to deliver to SAMSUNG HQ commercial level of algorithms & solution qualitiesEvaluate and recommend the best designs and architecture for hardware SoC and responsible to deliver to SAMSUNG HQ a commercial level of algorithm & solution qualities control software designTechnical follow up until end of production launch processing from SAMSUNG HQRequired Skills:MS and/or PhD in ECE, CE, EE (Signal Processing) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in signal processing, video processing, computer vision and S/W engineering12+ years of experience in technology fields, leadership, and engineering team management:

With a substantial portion in video algorithm development R&D team leading, technology & project planning from scratch ideas, and productions

5+ years of experience in either system level software development or translate experience to RTL and then fully understanding of C/C++ algorithms as per "top" to own the system integration R&R:

Solid C and C++ abilities (note: strong C/C++ skill is a MUST) familiarity with video post processing & algorithms

5+ years of experience in system architect or SoC architect:

Fully understanding of the workflow for video algorithm development process & deliverables, SoC design & implementation process, marketing & business decision process from the initial requirements after digestion of use-cases

Multiple achievements in the following areas: proven track records of successful efforts in experience (International Journal, Conference Papers or Patents):

Super Resolution, Semantic segmentation, Image Quality Assessment, Feature Extraction, Computer vision/Deep Learning/AI Applications, Quantization in Neural Network or HDR

5+ years of hand-on experience in algorithm research & development and then fully understanding of AI network layers and mechanisms including the training, optimization & runtime deployment infra structures:

Python or Mat lab for conventional & AI algorithms

Excellent technical leadership & management, communication and organizational skillsStrong problem-solving skills, proactive, and willing to take ownershipDevelopment experiences of video signal processing solutions or tools from bare-metal AI model design, low level boosting algorithms or traditional algorithms from scratchWell known about codec & network protocol architecture & mechanismDevelopment experience of using GPU Shader and performance optimization from quality & performance perspectiveQuick concept proof with hand-on prototyping as a contributor with small pilot team members

The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors-including the role's function and location as well as the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

Base Pay Range

$300,000-$400,000 USD
