JOB TITLE:
Print Layout Artist
JOB SUMMARY:
Lend your expertise designing layouts for new and revised forms, business cards, brochures, calendars, booklets, programs and visual aids. Use of desktop publishing systems, multiple software programs, peripheral output equipment to work from rough or electronic copy submission and preparing completed and approved materials for reproduction, and knowledge of electronic prepress. Work involves basic design, copy fitting, layout, paste up and color separation in the preparation of all types of printed materials. Proofread work for quality and accuracy, accept and convert text files via email or other medium, and provide customers with ideas and offer suggestions on ink and paper usage.
Hours: 8 hours between 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Pay: $ 25.00 per hour
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85009
Type: Long term temporary
Start date: July 1, 2024
Duration: 6 months with possible extensions
Benefits: Available after eligibility period is met
DUTIES
Using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro), Word and Publisher software programs. Handle basic design, copy fitting, layout, paste up and color separation in the preparation of all types of printed materials.Data entryProofread work for quality and accuracyAccept and convert text files via email or other mediumProvide customers with ideas and offer suggestions on ink and paper usageWork with internal print production staff to define specifications and oversee the quality of final print products resulting from designs and layoutsUse computer graphics and photo editing software to implement design and layout copyOperates a digital color and wide formal printer (will be trained) and other desktop output devices.REQUIREMENTS
Proficient Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro), Word and Publisher software programs on a Macintosh OS and PC platformsGood knowledge of business English and spellingKnowledge of duplicating and printing processes pertaining to methods, paper stock, ink, abilities and disabilities of print shop reproduction equipmentAble to do basic math calculationsBackground check required
