Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:

Independent Decision-Making: Solve design challenges, establish practices, and devise methods independently. For more intricate problems, collaborate with the department manager or project engineer to develop innovative solutions.Masterful Plan Production: Create polished plans and specifications that meet the highest standards of quality and precision.Quality Control: Review contractor submittals to ensure they align with design documents, covering essential aspects like materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction.Project Leadership: Lead major engineering projects and manage design work on smaller or moderately scoped projects. Serve as a job captain for both single-discipline and multi-discipline projects.Scope Definition: Define project scope based on initial reviews and client meetings, breaking it down into manageable tasks.Project Management: Undertake project management functions, providing critical support to the successful execution of our projects.Team Collaboration: Assign and review the work of the project design team, monitoring progress and promptly identifying changes in scope or additional services.Innovative Problem-Solving: Develop fresh approaches and solutions for encountered challenges and share them with the team.Client Representation: Act as a firm representative in meetings and conferences, facilitating vital discussions and project coordination.Cost Estimates: Prepare comprehensive design and construction cost estimates, leveraging your experience and project scope insights.Revit Proficiency: Perform design work using REVIT, ensuring cutting-edge technology is harnessed to create efficient solutions.

Requirements:To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.Proficiency with REVIT, showcasing your mastery of modern design tools.A strong working knowledge of International Building Codes, NFPA Standards, and ASHRAE Standards.Experience in Healthcare, K-12 Schools, Higher Education, and Government projects.

Preferred Qualifications:While not required, the following qualifications would be highly advantageous:

An associate degree or a certification of completion of other post-secondary training in Mechanical Engineering.Experience with Carrier HAPS for building load analysis.Familiarity with the South Carolina Office of State Engineer (OSE) and South Carolina Office of School Facilities (OSF).Experience working with the South Carolina Office of State Fire Marshall (OSFM) and DHEC-Division of Health Facility Construction.

Pay Rate:Competitive pay ranging from $36 per hour to $48 per hour, reflecting your qualifications and experience.Shift and Hours:

Work a regular Monday to Friday schedule.Enjoy convenient hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
