Selectek is seeking an Electromechanical Designer  to be responsible for the creation, maintenance, and release of electrical and mechanical designs and drawings.Job Responsibilities:
Creating cost-effective designs to meet electrical and mechanical functional requirementsCreating accurate drawings and other documentation to communicate designs within company and to vendors and customersCollaborating with both Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to create and implement electrical and mechanical designsPreparing and applying basic mechanical and electrical calculations to aid good designConsulting with company personnel and vendors to assure designs meet manufacturability standardsFollowing company Engineering Guidelines for design, drawing, and document controlDeveloping and maintaining a high level of technical expertise and knowledge of assigned products and supporting those products throughout the organizationFabricating and assembling mechanical, electrical, and electronic prototypes, components and systemsDesigning, constructing, and documenting product tests to replicate real world scenarios with repeatable resultsMaintaining, modifying, repairing, and testing of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and equipmentMaintaining a high level of expertise with design softwareManaging work schedule and planning to meet deadlines and goalsWorking independently and moving ahead on several projects in the same day based on priority
Required:
Two-year technical degree in Design or Drafting or equivalent experience and knowledgePossess three years of experience demonstrating good mechanical and electrical design skill and proven work ethicPossess skill with SolidWorksKnowing how to safely use available equipment to aid in the construction of prototypes and testsWork in a team environment taking multiple internal customers' input on designsPossess understanding of electrical design codes, standards, and symbolsPossess ability to read an electrical schematic and create a wiring diagram from itPossess demonstrated practical mechanical and electrical aptitudePossess excellent communication and collaboration skillsPossess computer proficiency in MS OfficeAbility to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schematic, blueprint or sketch form
Preferred:
Displaying good trouble shooting and problem-solving skillsPossess design familiarity with sheet-metal and plastic injection moldingPossess familiarity with design and tolerance stack-up principlesPossess understanding of drafting standards ASTM Y14.5
