Then you may just be our next Marketing Lead!The Marketing Lead partners with marketing management and Pursuit Champions to execute marketing activities that support revenue growth. The Marketing Lead typically serves as lead marketer for our most complex pursuits (Super Strategic, Design Build, etc.), and also may assist in the day-to-day management of the marketing team, such as supervising junior staff, coordinating workload assignments, or performing quality reviews.As part of our Mid-Atlantic Marketing Team, this position is flexible and can be located in any of our regional offices (Washington, DC; Tysons, VA; Richmond, VA; Williamsburg, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Raleigh, NC; or Charlotte, NC). VHB enjoys a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of 3 days in-office per week.ResponsibilitiesPursuits/ProposalsServes as a pursuit strategist and collaborative partner with technical staff.

Serves as Lead Marketer on the region's most critical pursuits and other complex marketing deliverables (e.g., Super Strategic pursuits, Design-Build efforts) without the need for day-to-day supervision. Works with technical staff to prepare proposal and interview materials, meeting required deadlines and quality expectations. Ensures all sections include differentiating win themes and that sections are compliant, timely, and well written.Mentors and reviews proposal and interview deliverables of peer and/or less experienced marketers. Reviews/edits narratives for content clarity, compliance, and key messages.Partners with marketing management in facilitating Capture Planning sessions. Works with Pursuit Champions in monitoring progress and execution of Capture Planning strategies, as assigned.May supervise marketing team members, including hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; coaching and motivating; and addressing problems.Works with graphic design staff to plan and produce materials.Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures.ClientsParticipates in marketing and business development meetings. Understands VHB's Focus Forward Approach and marketing's role in its success to support revenue growth and prominence in the market.Partners with marketing management to support execution of Market and Client Focus Team strategies. Facilitates and leads Client Mapping and SWOT analyses.May participate in Go/No Go conversations. May serve as marketing lead on Standard Pursuit Go/No Go conversations.Leads the development of value proposition and positioning pieces.VisibilityPartners with Regional Communication Specialist to develop and execute strategic visibility plans and tactics.May lead the planning of conferences and exhibits. Offers recommendation on elevated conference participation and activities, connecting them to pursuit positioning and other market goals.Skills and AttributesStrong understanding of the AEC industry.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.Highly detail oriented, with a demonstrated commitment to quality.Strong project management skills.Qualifications6+ years of proposal, writing, or marketing experience in the AEC industry required10+ years of proposal, writing, or marketing experience in the AEC industry preferredBA in Marketing, English, Communications, or related disciplineInvolvement and certification in industry affiliations preferred (e.g., CPSM, APMP)Experience mentoring and leading/supervising others preferred
