Job Title ::Merchandise Sales Web Designer
Location :: Birmingham,AL
Contract :: 12 months
The Web Designer creates digital graphics to be used on our websites and across digital marketingchannels in support of 48 Alabama Power Appliance Center locations. The Web Designer will be able totranslate high level business requirements and promotional campaigns into branded, intuitive, revenuegenerating designs that are appropriate to their respective channel.The Web Designer develops site content and graphics by collaborating with the Ecommerce Specialistand Advertising team - designing images, icons, banners, etc. Designs include the following, fromconcept to execution:• Monthly emails designed and tested• Website graphics (expected 2-3 updates per week)• Website landing pages (Gift Guide, Branded Pages, etc.)• Blog graphics• Social media graphics• Website UX updates• Intranet updates
The Web Designer will make continuous improvements to the websites by upgrading site-wide contentand graphics as needed through testing and analysis findings, promotional needs, etc.
Additional duties:• Be familiar with and adhere to corporate brand guidelines• Collaborate with Advertising team on campaign requirements, social media strategy, etc.• Support retail stores through special projects• Use design best practices to maximize media's impact• Create, develop, design, code and implement digital content• Test designs across multiple browsers and devices• Edit & proofread content for accuracy• Manage code repository in GitHub
The ideal candidate would have experience in web graphic design, web user interface design,responsive design, knowledge of web programming and experience working in Shopify with Liquid code.This creative individual would be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, have strong HTML, CSS andbasic JavaScript. They should understand how API connections work, as well as have an understandingof JSON file structure.
