POSITION SUMMARY

The Population Health Report Writer (PHRW) is responsible for generating effective reports for the analysis of the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Health (MLKCH) data from multiple sources, include the electronic health record (EHR), claims and other disparate sources of data. Under the direction of the Senior Director, Data Analytics and Digital Solutions, the PHRW serves as a trusted partner to leaders throughout the organization seeking insights from the health system's data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data from multiple sources and in multiple formats. These sources include the hospital's electronic health record (EHR), claims (in various formats), and various solutions and solution vendors.Perform data imports, exports, and mass updates, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.Analyze and interpret applicable data to provide insights for business decision-making.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including administrators, analysts, and leadership, to ensure cohesive and effective solutions.Create and maintain detailed documentation of business processes, requirements, and solutions.Meets with management and users to understand reporting requirements.Develops the reporting specification and builds and tests the report against the specifications.Adheres to the MLKCH change management process for break fix and any system changes.Troubleshoots system issues to resolution or escalation to vendor.Successfully engages in multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.If applicable, monitors and tracks backend jobs and interfaces to ensure efficient operations.Provide after-hours "on-call" support to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.Conduct regular system audits to ensure performance and integrity. Log and report audit outcomes.Stay up to date with the latest healthcare data analytics trends to leverage for improving business processes.Assist in developing and maintaining a long-term strategic roadmap for health system's data analytics.Other duties as assigned.#LI-AJ1

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A. Education

Bachelor's degree, Associate degree or equivalent experienceB. Qualifications/Experience

2+ years of experience working with healthcare data, preferably Oracle Health EHR (formerly Cerner)SQL (MS SQL, Oracle, Cerner Command Language, etc.) - intermediate skillsBusiness Intelligence (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.) - intermediate skillsSpreadsheets (Excel) - intermediate skillsC. Special Skills/Knowledge

Strong problem solving/analysis and customer service skillsStrong internal and external customer service skillsStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to apply mathematical concepts to data
