Library Branch Assistant - Chemult
Salary:
$14.88 - $19.40 per hour
Klamath County is on the lookout for a new part-time Branch Assistant at the Chemult Branch of the Library.
This position plays a vital role in the smooth operation of the local branch and involves a mix of clerical and para-professional duties.
The assistant ensures a welcoming and efficient library experience for all community members.
The Ideal CandidateWe're seeking a friendly, detail-oriented individual who is enthusiastic about libraries and community service. If you enjoy working with people, organizing events, and promoting literacy, this role is for you. A love for books and helping others find information is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Stay updated on and suggest improvements for library policies and procedures.Implement programs and displays for all age groups.Assist patrons with locating materials and using library resources.Handle new material requests and notify patrons of overdue items.Collect payments for library services and maintain financial records.Keep and report daily usage statistics.Organize and maintain library materials.Promote community engagement and support for the library.Maintain library appearance and handle emergencies.Remove outdated materials as directed.QualificationsA high school diploma or GED is required as well as a valid driver's license.
General computer skills, including word processing, email, and internet searching are also a requirement for this position. Knowledge of current library procedures and practices and one year of public library experience preferred.
